Good _____ on whatever time of day it is.
This blog is not to insult, demean or accuse any character, cast and producer but to discuss on what or why things are the way they are in the Supernatural Show.
The main focus for today is "WHERE IS THE COLOUR" in the Supernatural T.v show? I personally have been watching Supernatural for a decade and as an African (Nigerian) it has been a bit uncomfortable/ stressful/ upsetting that there is a lack of non-Caucasian characters. The first introduction of a black actor for a character was Gordon Walker who in the show Spoiler alert was turned into an evil character and killed by Sam. As the time goes on in the show we notice that black characters are either super evil like Gordon and Raphael the Archangel or are only used for short periods of time like Cassie Robinson and Missouri Mosley.
The question is why are there not enough characters that represent the world?
In the past the assumption then was it was easier to leave black and Asians out of the characters when they first aired in 2005 but it has been 15 years and there is still no improvement. It is certainly disappointing and at this point I am just happy the show is ending because it is heart breaking to be watching a show and not see a positive representation of what one feels they are. It would have been better to not use any coloured character at all than to be using them for evil characters.
In the most recent Supernatural series we have Billy who is a black woman representing ‘DEATH’. The introduction of Billy to the boys was an eyesore and someone seen as being in the way of the boys when fighting against evil. It is definitely something to think about if the producers decide to create other shows after Supernatural is done. The actors should also take note for their next movie projects. If anything remember you have fans from all over the world. All in different colours.

PS - Dean you are awesome.
